Second Announcement

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) and the International Programme Committee (IPC) of the Fifteenth Congress of the European Society for Research in Mathematics Education (CERME15) are pleased to invite you to attend the conference in Bratislava from 8th to 12th of February 2027. The conference will be preceded by the YERME Day for Young Researchers.

CERME is a distinctive conference designed to foster communication, cooperation, and collaboration among researchers in mathematics education. Its main feature is that attendees participate in one of 31 Thematic Working Groups (TWGs) over several sessions on a common theme in mathematics education research. The TWGs cover a wide range of themes and provide an opportunity for researchers to work together.

Plenary events will focus on two themes in European research in mathematics education, that is, research on inclusive mathematics education and research on and with mathematics teachers. The plenary events will consist of three plenary talks in dialogue form, the first relating to mathematics teachers (teaching practice and education) from a national perspective by Kitti Páleníková and Ingrid Semanišinová (Slovakia), the second relating to inclusive mathematics education by Helena Roos (Sweden) and Petra Scherer (Germany), the third relating to mathematics teachers (teaching practice, education and professional development) from an international perspective by Despina Potari (Greece) and Abraham Arcavi (Israel).

As the submission deadline approaches, we look forward to receiving papers and posters presenting recent scientific research. The conference website (https://www.cerme15.org) provides information on the Thematic Working Groups (TWGs), their leaders, and the specific call for papers for each TWG. It also contains Guidelines for Authors, details of the paper and poster submission process, and access to the electronic submission system, ConfTool.

The strict deadline for submission of papers and posters is 15th of September 2026.

Pre-registration is now open for authors submitting paper or poster proposals

Authors submitting paper or poster proposals are required to complete the pre-registration form and pay 50 euros for the pre-registration fee, which is a prerequisite for review of submissions. The fee will be credited towards the full registration fee if the submission is accepted. Please ensure payment is received by 21st of September 2026. As was the case at the last CERME in Bolzano, we ask that you confirm in an additional document that the paper or poster you have submitted is not plagiarised and has not already been submitted elsewhere. Depending on the resources available to your or partner universities and the provider of the plagiarism tools, the verification of submitted work for plagiarism may incur a fee.

ERME Awards and Graham Littler Fund

At CERME15, two prizes will be awarded: ERME Paper Award (for young researchers) and the ERME Poster Award (for all researchers).

ERME encourages diversity amongst the conference participants and offers support through the Graham Littler Fund, which provides financial assistance for academics from underrepresented or economically weak countries. The strict deadline for application is 15th of September 2026.

Further information regarding accommodation is available here.

Information about the venue and Bratislava is available here.

We look forward to seeing many of you at the conference in Bratislava in February 2027!
