First Announcement

We are delighted to announce that the Fifteenth Congress of the European Society for Research in Mathematics Education (CERME15) will take place from 8th to 12th February 2027. It will be preceded by the YERME day for Young Researchers from 7th to 8th February. The conference will take place in Bratislava (Slovakia) and will be hosted by Comenius University, jointly organised by the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics and the Faculty of Education.

CERME is a distinctive conference designed to foster communication, cooperation, and collaboration among researchers in mathematics education. Its main feature is that attendees participate in one of 31 Thematic Working Groups (TWGs) over several sessions on a common theme in mathematics education research. The TWGs cover a wide range of themes and provide an opportunity for researchers to work together.

Plenary events will focus on two themes in European research in mathematics education, that is, research on inclusive mathematics education and research on and with mathematics teachers. The plenary events will consist of three plenary talks in dialogue form, the first relating to mathematics teachers (teaching practice and education) from a national perspective by Kitti Páleníková and Ingrid Semanišinová (Slovakia), the second relating to inclusive mathematics education by Helena Roos (Sweden) and Petra Scherer (Germany), the third relating to mathematics teachers (teaching practice, education and professional development) from an international perspective by Despina Potari (Greece) and Abraham Arcavi (Israel).

Researchers in mathematics education are invited to submit a paper or poster to one of the TWGs. Details of the TWGs, their leaders, and the calls for papers will be available on the conference website on 1st of April, 2026 (https://www.cerme15.org/). Submission and reviewing guidelines, as well as details of the electronic submission process, will be available on 1st of June, 2026. The deadline for the submission of papers and posters is 15th of September, 2026.

Conference fees (with a reduced fee for students), are available on the website https://www.cerme15.org/registration-and-fees. CERME15 is planned as a face-to-face event. If this turns out to be impossible, a virtual conference will be held on the same dates.

At CERME15, two prizes will be awarded: the ERME Paper Award (for young researchers) and the ERME Poster Award (for all researchers). Further details will be available on www.cerme15.org.

ERME encourages diversity amongst the conference participants and offers support through the Graham Littler Fund, which provides financial assistance for academics from underrepresented or economically disadvantaged countries, and through Pre-submission support, which provides early feedback to researchers who do not have access to expert advice on writing papers for international conferences. Further details will be available on www.cerme15.org.

We look forward to seeing many of you at the conference in Bratislava in February 2027!
